A pearl of a book is made in to theatre.
Daniel is three years old, and his parents are looking forward to hear him speak and sing. Then he stops speaking. His laughter is turned inwards. The small boy is changing. For his mother a battle begins, a battle to understand what is happening to the boy, and then to try to give him the help that he needs. Mothers should never give up, but what is accepted, and what does it mean to give up?
"Tung tids tale" is no heroic story- It is a story about all of us. Written with both humor, anger and warmth. About a mother who has to give so much more love that she can receive. A mother who meets a heavier time than she imagined. In the middle of Norway, in the middle of life, and in the middle of peoples every day life.
Olaug Nilssen is one of our most vital and fantastic authors, with both a sharp and good pen, she won with "Tung Tids Tale" Brageprisen.
When Riksteatret collaborate with Det Norske Teatret and Kilden Teater to make a theatre of this strong novel, it is Marit Moum Aune whos directing. She is one of our greatest directors comissioned for TV, film and theatre, and have earlier made huge success with Olaug Nilssens "Få Meg På For Faen", "Vi har så korte armar" and "Stort og Stygt". At the moment she is occupied with Engler i Amerika at the National Theatre. She is joined by the four actors Jon Bleiklie Devik, Julie Moe Sandø, Marianne Krogh and Siren Jørgensen / Charlotte Frogner, while it is dramatized by Toril Solvang in the collaboration and Olaug Nilssen herself.
