Polish master pianist with new concert in Parken Kulturhus
Polish star pianist Greg Niemczuk held a fantastic Chopin concert at Parken Kulturhus in May 2019. The enthusiastic audience almost demanded to bring him back. And now he's here again.
Greg Niemczuk was born in Poland in 1985 and graduated from the Katowice Music Academy with the highest distinction. He has won many national and international music competitions: the first prize in the national Chopin competition in Warsaw in 2010, the first prize in the international debutant competition in Carnegie Hall in New York in 2013 and the audience award at the International Music Festival in Busan Maru in South Korea in October 2016.
Greg Niemczuk now has the whole world as an arena. He has played in every part of the world and in most European countries. Greg Niemczuk has held annual concerts in Norway since 2010 and is on two tours every year in the country. This year's spring tour goes to 8 cultural and concert halls. This shows that Greg Niemczuk is gaining ever greater foothold in Norway.
Everywhere Greg plays he is invited back. The main reason, of course, is that he is such an outstandingly gifted and skilled pianist, but also because he is such a nice boy: friendly, open, outgoing, always smiling, enthusiastic, loving people, humble and grateful for everything - loved and highly respected where than he comes
For tonight's program he has brought together a bunch of the most beautiful pieces of music from the two countries that matter most to him: Poland and Norway. He will play well-known works by Grieg, Sinding, Sæverud and by the Polish composers Chopin and Paderewski.
