Folkemusikkensemblet Majorstuen

It is not that often Morgan Kane, Kristin Lavransdatter, Per Waglen and Lensmann Geissler are mentioned in the same sentence. However, when the five musicians and komposers in Majorstuen were challenged to use litterature as inspiration for new music, they decided to use the entire span from modern entertainment litterature to classical works as base.

In SKRIBLE Majorstuen uses their folkmusical funadment, their imagination, and theircreativity to comment, create contrasts and abstract their many aspects of litterature. Through 17years of musical collaboration, they have created their own expression, and with the folk musics essence they travel to many different musical landscapes. It is all tied together by the ensemble's refreshing and surprising scenic dissemination.

Majorstuen have played almost 300concerts in 20 countries, and have through their explorative and fun scenic expression put a new standard for how folk music may disseminate to a wider audience. They have pleased their audience from everything from the smallest pub in inner Romsdal to the biggest culture house in Paris, and they are well known for their sound. For the debut album "Majorstuen", they received Spellemannprisen, and later on have their six records brought nominations to both Spellemannprisen and other prices.

In SKRIBLE take Majorstuen you on a litterate trip with exciting musical stops!
