The concert that marked the King's return to the music turns 50 years!
In 1961, Elvis held his last concert for seven years. His manager thought it would be best to focus on a career in film, and in this process, the so-called Presley Formula was promoted to the film, promoting the album Elvis, and the album promotes the film. Elvis lost contact with the music of making music only for movies, and the quality of the songs he delivered was considered lower than when he was at his best. In 1967, Parker, Elvis Manager, contacted NBC boss and suggested an agreement that included a feature film, soundtrack and TV special. Presley was initially negative, but when the right people came on board and started working on the project, the pieces fell in place. The single concert was recorded and shown on TV 1968 to huge success!
